Packing Again....

So, remember when we loaded up the truck and moved to So Cal? Its time to move again, this time its a much shorter move to our new home. I am really excited about having a studio again. I wake up thinking about how I will organize it, how I will arrange the furniture and where I will put my multitude of art supplies. Tell me again why I need to have 10 tubes of different shades of red paint? Anyway, if anyone out there has any good studio organizing ideas, I would like to hear about them.
The only thing I have been painting lately is furniture.....

Howdy,
Good luck on your move!

SOME ORGANIZING TIPS from LuLu:

1) gather several large containers or boxes (about the size of a dishpan)

2) set aside 2-4 hours on multiple days. Don't try to organize it all in one day.

3) sort all like supplies together into one box (all scissors, all adhesives, all acrylic paints, all watercolor paints, all jars, all pencils, all brushes, all paper, all substrates, all books, etc)

4)toss or donate broken or unwanted items (unless using them in mixed-media art piece)

take a break!

5) designate a 'home' space for storing each category

6) orgqanize individual pieces within a category. For example, I organize my pens, pencils and markers by color family - and store all COOL colors in one pencil box (I like vintage or new metal lunch boxes) and all WARM colors in another box...

7)store most used items on your desk and closest to you.

8) store things you rarely use furthest away, or even in a different room
Hope this helps.

Would love for you to stop by my blog when you have a moment or 2!

Happy Holidays!

Peace,
LuLu

I'd like those good tips too! :)

Congrats on the move (even though they say moving is a top stresser, 2nd only to a death in the family which is why I'm never moving again!)! Your new home looks beautiful.

I found you from Pumpkin Delight. I love your site. I’m going to poke around a little bit, but don’t worry I’ll put everything back where I found it!!
