Painting the Carlsbad Flower Fields

Today we went on a field trip to paint the flower fields in the Carlsbad, a coastal town in Northern San Diego. I almost cheated and brought my watercolor paints instead of my acrylics because there is so much less equipment to bring for outdoor watercolor painting.
Once I got my acrylic supplies into transportable form, which was a sparkle rubbermaid container with a handle that we used to use for doll clothes and a laminated shopping bag, I found taking acrylic paints out wasn't that overwhelming at all.

So lovely and cheerful. Great painting. Admire you for using acrylics, they dry so fast.

Polly, you're right the acrylics dry really fast. Even faster when you're painting outside. I am mixing in Golden brand extender fluid and that helps the paints not dry so fast.

Myra, you're right, I think the bottom photo would make a good painting too. Thanks for the idea, I like the idea of adding the people and I'd like to do more paintings of this subject but the dogs keep getting in the way.
