Old Book Pages + Watercolor Pencil and Gouache

In Sunday's workshop one of our projects involved pasting pages from old books onto canvas and painting images on top with gouache. I added some watercolor pencil scribble lines today and slathered the whole thing with watercolor varnish. This painting was inspired by Myra Anderson's blog, Last Cup Of Coffee. I imagined she might drink her coffee in rainbow colored cups as her paintings are painted in beautiful colors.

Thats so neat, love the layout, the colours and the style of it. Great fun piece. With the stamp on the top corner I thought this was mailart at first, just imagine getting that in the mail : )

Thank you so much! You made me laugh! This artwork is beautiful! Actually I drink about 6 cups of coffee in large paper cups THEN I start to see the pretty colors!

This lovely colourful painting really cheered me up on this damp grey day in England

I think I will try drinking 6 cups of coffee in paper cups and see if I start using my colors more vividly or maybe I will see some cool polka dots too.

Love love love the coffee cups, Barbara! And I had a great time at the class! I learned a lot about mixing colors and using gouache with collage. Thank you!
