Does Art Follow Life or Does Life Follow Beagles?

This morning at my house, I sketched my dog while he slept on the couch in a sunny spot. I showed him the sketch when he woke up and to my surprise he really liked the sketch and comissioned me to paint him in full color.
I'd find it really embarrassing to be one of those people who starts looking like their pet dog. I am sure that will never happen to me...
