Watercolor Journaling - the Hazards of Sketching in a Bakery

Thursday afternoon, Louise and I decided to paint in the local Panera Bakery. We were happy to find a place to sit right in front of the pastry display case. The afternoon sun shone on the baked goods basking them in a golden light and we began to sketch. Soon a group of women came into the bakery and stood right in front of the case to study the pastries giving us a view of their you-know-whats. We waited patiently for the ladies to decide on their treats and move on. When they finally left, we were shocked to discover that they ordered all of the scones Louise had been sketching and the tray was empty. Next week we are thinking of going to the car wash to paint...

We have a sketching group that meets at a local Panera every Saturday. I unfortunately am not able to attend due to family stuff going on on Saturdays. But I think they have tons of "food" for drawing;). Thanks for visiting my blog! Happy painting!
