My Favorite Art Supplies
Watercolor Paints by Daniel Smith in the following colors-Permanent Rose, Permanent Red, Lemon Yellow, New Gamboge, Sap Green, Cerulean Blue, Thalo Blue, Cobalt Blue, French Ultramarine Blue, Carbazole Violet, Yellow Ochre and Burnt Sienna.
I use Scarlet Lake by Winsor Newton.
Optional colors I use sometimes are: Buff Titinium Ultramarine Violet, Permanent Magenta, Quinacrodone Coral, Cobalt Teal, Cobal Violet, Prussian Green and Permanent Green and these are all Daniel Smith paints.
Brushes
After trying a zillion brushes in every price range, I use mostly American Journey Brushes made by Cheap Joes and Robert Simmons White Sable brushes. American Journey Travel brushes have shorter handles and are really great to take along on trips because they don't take up as much space as longer handled brushes.
Paper
Arches 140 lb. cold press watercolor paper and Raffine Mixed Media Paper from Jerryartarama.com
Pocket size journal
Global Art Handbook or Moleskine Watercolor Journal
Pens
I like the Faber Castel Pitt Pens in either extra fine or fine point in sepia and sanguine colors.
