Painting Watercolor Flowers Or In This Case, Hydrangeas

This started as a demo in my Wednesday watercolor class at Escondido Adult School. It is so fun to add editing touches to the finished watercolor. If you are in the mood to paint hydrangeas today, feel free to print out my drawing and paint away. I used sap green mixed with yellows and blues for my leaves and scarlet lake mixed with new gamboge and thalo blue for my pot.

I took your 5 second challenge, and yes! Your header makes me want to read on! I love the excitement of the hydrangea painting. It has something special that sets it apart from a typical floral still life. It's creative and really makes a statement.
