Simple and Available Materials to Make Drawing Easy

Continuing on the subject on how to find more time to draw and paint, I am posting here my latest motivational tip to get yourself drawing. Lets use no frills materials that you can find around the house; a piece of 8 1/2"x 11" copy paper, a pencil, an eraser and something you want to draw. Don't spend more then 5 minutes looking for a subject to draw, if you need to, set a timer while you search for your subject. Then grab your pencil and draw a rough sketch, squint or close one eye to see where the shades and shadows lie and scribble them in. Try to see light , medium and dark shades and a shadow under the subject. This sketch should take 10-15 minutes and tell your "inner art critic" if he pops up and says something mean, just say in a firm voice, "It doesn't have to be perfect."
Tomorrow I'll tell you what to do in the next box on your paper. You only have 4 squares to complete this week, that's not overwhelming to you, is it?
