Finishing the Simple Exercise You Began On Monday

Here are the next things to do with the drawing I posted Monday.
Try assigning #'s to the dark and light tones you see in your drawing. Start with 1. for white and then 2 for light 3 for medium, 4 for dark and 5 for very dark. Now you have a tone map. To translate the tones to color use a lot of water for your 2 light and much less water for tones 3 and 4. Add a darker color for your darkest dark. In this example I used permanent rose for the values 2-4 and added ultramarine blue to permanent rose for the darkest tone.
If you do this exercise let me know how it works for you.
